About The Gums Childcare Centre

Philosophy

We recognise that each child is unique as is their growth and development. We believe that play has an important role in learning, and learning through collaboration allows children to come to greater understandings as they share different viewpoints and experiences. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia project and this influences our teaching styles and is vital to our curriculum. We use the Early Years Learning Framework Curriculum which is from birth to five years and we incorporate the Australian Curriculum (five years plus) into our programs to promote further investigation and learning.
