About Mr Morce

A bright, breezy, and just a little cheeky, eatery and bar for visitors and locals to enjoy! Sourcing local wines, succulents and produce, Mr Morce is open from 8am till late Wednesday to Sunday. Why Mr Morce ? Staying with the local heritage and the fact that we are locals, we wanted to embrace a theme around part of our historic building. After some significant research we found that Mr George Morce was perfect to create our restaurant and we engaged Samantha Eades Design & Ewert Leaf to bring the interiors to life. Mr Morce was a local, and adored, Sorrento identity in the late 1800's. As the local stonemason specialising in the use of limestone, George contributed to the building of many recognisable landmarks in Sorrento. Notably, his handy work can be seen in the original Sorrento Police station of which he became a regular guest after many joyous visits to the Sorrento Hotel! He also worked on the Koonya, the Atheneuem Theatre and \u2018Eastcliffe\u2019 property. Our bar and indoor/outdoor fireplace, built from local limestone, has been constructed in recognition of his valuable contribution to the local architecture. Mr Morce brings together local young yet well experienced talent from the Pensinsula with our chef Tom Anderson and Manager Ben Annison. Tom\u2019s passion on a plate and culinary expertise is enjoyed in our Australian cuisine menu. This has been influenced by his extensive travel throughout Japan, South America and Europe. Tom is big on using natural produce that grows on the peninsula like succulents and salt bush. With over 20 years experience in the industry, Ben\u2019s desire for optimum service and aim to create the best Sorrento dining experience for you is felt the minute you walk into the bright, light and airy restaurant. Ben and his team will ensure you receive the best attention whether you are enjoy our Healthy start Breakfast, relaxed lunch or dinner menu, or wish to pop in for a drink and snack. Family friendly and locally focused is our aim.
