We believe that the environment we provide should be safe, secure and inviting for all children and their families, children learn more if they are in an environment where they feel comfortable. Safety and security is promoted within the centre by building trusting relationships with the children and their families ensuring a relaxed and calm environment.
We believe communication is an important part of caring for children and their families. Contributions from families are important to us at Cherry Lane and we value and encourage all participation and information regarding their child, the centre, families and the community. Relationships with the community are also an important part of caring for children and by utilising the community recourses will help educate and care for all children.
We believe that the curriculum should be play based on the children's interests. The curriculum should reflect and include children's current knowledge, ideas, culture and abilities. Educators are to provide vibrant but flexible play spaces that extend and enhance children's learning.
