About Ooranga F.M.R.U. Assoc. Inc

Ooranga Family Mobile Resource Unit Assoc. Inc. is a mobile provider of early childhood services. Ooranga was established in 1982 with a mobile playgroup and a toy library. Ooranga has grown and provides a mobile supported playgroup to 13 different communities across three local government areas in northern New South Wales. Our office is based in Gunnedah where we also operate a Toy Library that is also accessible through our mobile playgroup. Ooranga also delivers preschool services to seven small communities within a 100km radius of Gunnedah. These are located at Boggabri, Curlewis, Currabubula, Mullaley, Premer, Spring Ridge and Walhallow. Each preschool service operates two days per week and are staffed by qualified and experienced early childhood educators.

Ooranga is a not for profit, community-based organisation that maintains strong ties to the communities we operate in. We strongly believe that children are our number one priority, and acknowledge that children’s voices are an imperative part of the role we play, as Educators. We strive to see them develop a strong sense of identity and belonging within our services.
