The Sewing Basket offers you a warm friendly environment where you can come and enjoy your patchwork; quilting and dressmaking. The Sewing Basket holds regular classes for patchwork and quilting; dressmaking. These classes are for all age groups. We cater for after school classes in dressmaking. All fabric stocked at the Sewing Basket is 100% cotton. The wadding is also 100% cotton and comes in 3 sizes - suitable for a single bed, double bed and also a king size bed. There is a range of backing fabrics as well.Threads that are supplied are - Mettler; Rasant for your general sewing and quilting; Robison Anton and Outback Embroidery threads for your embroidery machines; DMC for your hand embroidery.Other items are quilt hangers; patterns - both embroidery (hand); patchwork and applique; hand and machine needles; feet for your Brother machines; rotary cutters and rulers; scissors; spray starch; spray adhesive; hoops; heat and bond; vliesofix; steam-a-seam2 adhesive; pelons; stabilisers for both embroidery and dressmaking; The Sewing Basket also sells Brother Sewing Machines, Embroidery Machines and Overlockers. Come in and talk about what you require and we can match you up with a machine. We also organise repairs for any machine that requires that little bit of attention along with the ones that require a major overhaul. Our mechanic has been in the industry for some 20 years or so and has a lot of expertise with all types of machines.The Sewing Basket is also the agent for Horn Australia. Although we do not have a lot of items on the floor, there are brochures to look at and ordering can be done with delivery expected within 2 weeks (in most cases). Horn Australia is situated in Adelaide so delivery costs vary on items, dependent on size and weight.
